One Last Ball…

One Last Ball…

Happy Hump Day, mes chéries! If you’re still in school like me, I hope the final rush of chaos isn’t beating you down too hard. Sadly enough, this is my last week of school as an undergraduate. It’ll be pretty much over for me forever once my last class ends tomorrow at 10:30am. I’m not sure what’s waiting for me at the end of the week, other than my last ever dance show and a lot of tears, but I’m pretty sure it’ll be the ghost of the real world ahead of me cackling in my face. I guess there will only be one way to find out.

This past Friday wrapped up my last ever college formal season. For my last ever sorority formal, also known as Sapphire Ball, I had a hard debate between my beautiful sapphire blue prom dress (that I magically managed to fit back into) or dusty rose flowy dress. Seeing that I didn’t want to close out college the same way I closed out high school, the latter won:

This dress has easily taken over my heart as my favorite piece in my closet. The way it flows yet still is flattering and slimming shows that the designer is truly talented. So naturally, I took a lot of photos documenting my last hurrah:

Other than my stick-on bra and a stubborn ass pimple making an unwelcome peep in a few photos, the ball was quite a ball and a very memorable one. As part of tradition, the chapter voted on senior superlatives and awards. I received the “Sister & the City” Award seeing that the chapter decided I was their very own Carrie Bradshaw.

While I’m sad the days of dressing up for events are over, I’m quite happy that the evolution of what I wear to semi-formal/cocktail events/formals have changed with time. There are a few choices out there that I lightly cringe to, but am grateful the photos taught me a fashionable lesson.  In true Erica style, there will be a Do’s and Don’ts of event-wear coming soon at the end of the month full of photos from the past and a lot of self (and non-self) roasting. Stay tuned for some fashion faux pas and a lot of shade; no names of course 😉

À la prochaine, mes chéries…
