Bonjour, mes chéries! I hope your weeks have been going well. With school creeping right around the corner, I’m back to my stomping grounds one last time. It’s been an emotional and bittersweet beginning to the end of the most unforgettable chapter in my life. However, I’m thrilled to be closing it and moving forward next fall. But for now, Pittsburgh you’re still my playground!
As August drifts into September, the weather is slowly teetering between low 80s and high 60s. Cool breezes and earlier sunsets are bringing out darker hues and thicker materials. With the weather wavering day to day, what do we possibly wear?
One of my favorite parts of this seasonal transition is the ability to mesh lightweight summer clothing with more season-ambiguous pieces. Below is one of my go-to outfits for late summer.
While the crop top is black and ribbed with a slightly higher collar, the material is still breathable and blends well with the summery shorts. To transition this outfit into autumn, I blended it with simple stacks of silver rings, a minimalistic necklace, and black block-heel sandals. These are perfect for both summer and fall and versatile in its pairing abilities.
Now normally, silver is not my first metal of choice. So what makes this color palette so great is that it matches both silver, gold, rose gold, and gunmetal. If you find it too simplistic, no worries. It can even serve as a pleasant backdrop to colorful statement jewelry pieces!
Lastly, I love this outfit because it’s very safe. Do you have friends who always change plans last minute? I know I do. You can wear this to almost anything: exploring neighborhoods, shopping, visiting museums, watching a movie, strolling through markets downtown, a nice restaurant, bars, anything. It makes spontaneity no issue at all.
What’s your favorite go-to outfit for late summer, mes chéries?
