I created this self-portrait during a time where I was trying to balance my anxiety and panic attacks. I wanted to capture that particular moment when the wave of unwarranted thoughts hit your mind sending you in a mental downward spiral. For me, I’m often frozen in place when this happens, which explains the expression I’m holding on the right side of the painting. The left side is a complete abstract mess, representing the nonsense that fills me when anxiety hits.
